On the 19th of February, 2016, the
nominations list for this year’s edition of Ghana DJ Awards got released. There
was a significant number of complains as to the criteria of nomination, and
about the fact that it’s centered mostly on DJs in Accra, and a few from Kumasi,
without recognizing other hardworking DJs in the remaining regions.
After the fuss about it went down, DJ
Keyzz, a nominee has openly declined her nomination as Best Female DJ. In a
tweet attached with a twitpic, she makes her decision clear, pointing out that
she prefers to be acknowledged by her skill, not by her gender. Read out the
