INTERVIEW WITH PRODUCER, DRIZLEBEATZ

I did an interview with producer, Drizlebeatz for LoudSoundGH. Check it out below…

In this moment that the GH music scene has been saturated with different songs, a young producer known as Drizle pops up with refreshing and energetic talent. He is set to release his debut project dubbed “24/7 Beat Tape” On Nov 15, 2014. The LoudSoundGH team caught up with him for a brief interview. Read the conversation below…

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
Who is Drizle?

Drizlebeatz:
A young man who goes by the name Gbewonyo Eyram. I’m currently a student of University of Ghana, reading B.Sc. Biomedical Sciences. In showbiz, I’m a producer of mainly Hip-Hop and House beats. I rep Ashaley Botwe of Greater Accra region. I’m known as Drizle because of my cute stature. We all understand drizzle is the drops of rain, making it metaphorical.

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
How and when did you start music production?

Drizlebeatz:
I’ve been a lover of music since childhood. I started learning to play musical instruments including piano and drums at a tender age. During my JHS3 days I developed the passion to produce digital beats as I was sneaking into my senior brother’s home studio and witnessed various producers doing their own thing.

I began experimenting with FL Studio, and right after JHS, I commenced music production professionally.

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
What inspired you to make a beat tape?

Drizlebeatz:
As difficult as it could get, I wanted to challenge myself with all the inspirations I gained from listening to other people’s works. Additionally, I had to make something to meet the demands of my listeners. I found out that a beat tape could be the best way.

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
What do you think about the Ghana music industry?

Drizlebeatz:
I’ll say it’s a rapid growing industry, and it’s becoming attractive to the international community. Taking a look at the production sector, although they are doing really good, I feel like not much attention is given to some genres such as House and dubstep.

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
Who is your role model?

Drizlebeatz:
Everyone who is hardworking and does the extraordinary is my role model.

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
Okay, so let’s delve into the beat tape. Why the title 24/7?

Drizlebeatz:
Surprisingly, I didn’t have a title for the tape, till I realized I was spending all my time (including late night and dawn) making beats. Hence, the title.

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
Can you give us some details of the beats included on the tape?

Drizlebeatz:
Let me just tip off that some of the instrumentals are former beats that I remade. I love to make complex beats rather than repetitive melodies. Anyway, the tape includes genres like House, Hip-Hop (90’s type rap beats, trap, ratchet music). It’s heavenly. I assure you’re gonna love it.

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
Who do you think are the top-notch producers in Ghana currently?

Drizlebeatz (Aqweci):
Almost everyone is doing his/her best, but specifically, Mike Millz, Nacey, Jayso, Kaywa, Magnom, Killbeatz, Illkeyz, Drumroll and Fortune Dane, in no specific order are really pushing the game an extra mile.

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
What are your last words?

Drizlebeatz:
Musicians should anticipate for the 24/7 beat tape and expect something extraordinary. Watch out for future quality productions by DrizleBeatz as well. If you wanna work with me, simply hit me up on twitter or facebook @DrizleBeatz. I wanna tell the reader of this to believe in what they do and stay true to themselves no matter the small beginning. We’re all gonna get there. Peace!

LoudSoundGH (Aqweci):
Thanks for having us Mr. Drizle. We hope to do this another time.
