GATHER THE BROKEN AFRICAN PIECES

I didn’t write this in any particular order. It just hit me like… go write about that!
Where should I even start from?..
Well, I was wondering why most Ghanaians living in Ghana are broke, but when the same people settle in developed countries, they find a way to make a lot more.
Is it because our land has been cursed against progression? Or we’re lazy and individually independent? Or do we lack ideas? Or probably, most people here are dumb?
If so then does it mean majority of poor people are dumb, and so the reason for their state of living?

FLOWKING STONE VS. SARKODIE ON “FIRE BON DEM(REMIX): WHO ‘KILLED’ WHO?

This article was published on Loud Sound Ghana (https://loudsoundgh.com/2016/03/flowking-stone-vs-sarkodie-fire-bon-demremix-killed/)

One of the greatest collaborations of our time, a collaboration the public has been thirsting to hear is finally here. Sarkodie and FlowKing Stone have finally done it. Two of the country’s best rappers deliver their best on one song. And it’s only right that as a Rap/Hip-Hop analyst I take us through the song, element after element.

It’s good for people to compare the 2 verses, because it’s a rap song. Rap is a sport, and in the end we should crown one a king. There are numerous elements of rap, and in this article I digest the song.

A STUDENT IN SCHOOL, A SLAVE AFTER SCHOOL

By Joseph ‘Aqweci’ Ofori.

This article was published on Ghana Community Online "http://ghanacommunity.com/a-student-in-school-a-slave-after-school/"

Welcome to Ghana, a large arena for political battle. A country where “we are blessed with natural resources but we’re poor” is a cliché. A country where civilians are afraid of politicians. Viewing it from a different angle, a project agreement where the funder is afraid of the contractor. The ones who provided seats for wanderers are scared they might die while searching for a wall to lean their tired bodies.

With some few years to make up a decade, musician extraordinaire, Sarkodie has never failed to appear on our television sets and be on our radio. The musical legend has been continually dropping hits after hits, building himself as the greatest musical brand, influencing the youth heavily and opening the door to the hall of fame. The rapper’s attention has been on the youth for a while now, with a few oldies having an eye on him, although almost every inhabitant knows him. After dropping 3 solid albums, Sarkodie decides to dedicate an album to his late grandmother Mary Lokko who kicked the bucket in 2012. He does it in a grandstyle, fusing genres that’ll encompass almost every typical Ghanaian’s favourite, thus Hip-Life and High-Life. In various interviews, the “Illuminati” hitmaker has emphasized how his grandmother advised him to do live music, when she was alive. Known by real name Michael Owusu, he heeds granny’s advice and provides Ghana with refreshing food for the soul, Mary Album.

This article was published on Ghana Community Online (http://ghanacommunity.com/the-paralysis-of-ghanas-music-industry/)

For several times, questions have been raised about the existence of a music industry in Ghana. Popular artists, E.L and C-Real, just to mention a few have clearly noted the non-existence of the industry which some people boast of. To clear all doubts, let’s digest the matter to know the end products.

First of all, what is a music industry? And what makes a music industry functional? A music industry basically consists of companies and individuals that make money by creating and selling music. A lot of professionals come together to make this possible. Such people include artists, instrumentalists, producers, sound engineers, publishers, marketers, distributors, promoters, entertainment lawyers, and so on.

GHANA, MY DIRTY HOME

This article was published on Ghana Community Online (http://ghanacommunity.com/ghana-my-dirty-home/)

There are tons of problems facing Ghana. One very disturbing of these issues is the lack of proper sanitation in the country. Take a stroll down your vicinity and you’ll be welcomed with unimaginable dirty surroundings. Well, unless you live in the negligible percentage of the neat areas in the country. The nation has been swallowed by filth. A close friend once said “Ghana is just a huge litterbin”… so disheartening. Finding the cause of a problem is tantamount to solving a large percentage of it, they say. But come to think of it, we are fully aware of the causes, so why is the situation getting worse?
